What To Do
Marrakech - Of course, the biggest draw is the unique walled city of Marrakech, with its traditional old ‘souk’ (markets) along with the nightlife and art attractions of the new city. For guests, we have created a guide to our favourite restaurants, bars and attractions in Marrakech.
Hammams - In Marrakech there is a wealth of luxury spas and hammams, to wash and massage away the stresses of daily life. Less than half an hour from the house is the fabulous Beldi Country Club, set in an old rose farm, with a beautiful and intimate spa for massages, hammam and a salon. On the other side of the Ourika Valley, approx 20 minutes drive, is the magnificent Kasbah Bab Ourika, with its majestic views of the Atlas mountains the hotel has spa facilities, where you can also have lunch, drinks or dinner.
Massage - We can book a lady to come to the house
Yoga - We can arrange an excellent international yoga teacher to come to house for private lessons she is also an Ayurvedic practitioner.
Children - Apart from the stepped swimming pool the house has a trampoline, ping pong table and a basketball hoop. We can recommend water skiing, camel rides, water parks and zip lining (details below).
Local walks - From the front door, venture into the foothills of Atlas Mountains, on quiet paths shaded by pine trees. The path from the house leads to stunning views. We can also arrange a local walking guide. Alternatively, within 15 minutes drive you can find paths that wind along the Ourika River, walking to the shrine of Sidi Fatima with its beautiful waterfall.
Water skiing - 20 minutes south, towards Marrakech, is Waky, a water skiing park where you can have lessons or just let rip along the cable lines.
Golf - Within 20 minutes there are three 18-hole golf courses that make for a perfect half- or full-day out. Each of these courses offer caddies, golf rental and golf carts.
Skiing - 40 minutes up the road, in the High Atlas lies Ouikameden ski resort. There are 7 lifts, with the highest at 3,200 meters. It is possible to go skiing for the day from late December until mid-March, depending on the snowfall. There are a few charming restaurants, the most famous of which Chez Juju is worth it just for a day in the mountains.
Horse Riding and Ziplining - Terre D’Amenar is a multi—sport destination, 30 minutes from the house, most know for its zip lining through the trees and across the canyons. They also have stables and can arrange either cross-country riding or riding in their arena.
Water Park - The nearest one to the house is 20 minutes away Aqua Fun Club and there is a second one in Marrakech, Oasiria
Hot Air Ballooning - Can be arranged from Marrakech
Camel rides - These can arranged to the front door from the main road, and go across the fields next to the house.
Quad biking - At the bottom of the piste to the house, there are quad bikes to go explore the tracks in the surrounding area.
Local Berber Market - The local village, Tnine d’Ourika, holds one of the largest markets in the valley every Monday. A truly authentic experience. You can buy fresh produce bought down from the mountains, see the donkey (car) park, and the buzz of the Berber communities for whom it is a commercial and social event.
